COSMED announces acquisition of Life Measurement, Inc. (LMI)
COSMED USA, Inc. announces the recently completed acquisition of Life Measurement, Inc. (LMI), a leading provider of body composition assessment equipment in infants, children and adults.
LMI develops, manufactures, and markets medical devices designed to provide the most accurate body composition based on Air Displacement Plethysmography technology, considered the “Practical Gold Standard” in body composition assessment. LMI's products, which include the BOD POD® and the PEA POD® Body Composition Tracking Systems, are extensively used in University and Medical Research, Clinical, Athletic, Military, and Health and Fitness settings all around the world.
COSMED USA, Inc., based in Chicago, IL, is the wholly owned USA subsidiary of COSMED srl, a European company with Headquarters in the province of Rome, Italy. With the addition of LMI, COSMED further enhances its already extensive offerings, which include application specific solutions for the measurement of Exercise Capacity (VO2max) and Indirect Calorimetry, and Gold Standard products such as the K4 b², the Fitmate and the Quark product line. The combination of the two companies will result in a single entity focused on providing the best and most comprehensive Cardiopulmonary and Metabolic solutions for the Medical, Research, Sport Science and Performance and Wellness markets, and a worldwide structure able to respond to their high requirements.
